Archives for June 2011 Giveaway {$25 WUSLU money}

This giveaway is closed.

I admit it.

I'm cheap.  And I'm a sucker for a great deal!  I have subscribed to quite a few deal-a-day sites, and I LOVE having good deals delivered right to my inbox!  I love that I don't have to seek out the good deals--they come to ME!

But did you know that there is a deal-a-day site featuring great deals on home decor?!  Let me just introduce you to WUSLU.

Yasmin, the founder of WUSLU, seeks out fabulous deals on home decor and shares a HOT deal on a unique home decor item each and every day.  Each smokin' hot deal is posted at 10 A.M. EST.  The deals are up to 85% off retail value.

Yesterday's deal was a set of metal nesting tables valued at $360.  This set is only $166 with $5 shipping!  Besides being a smokin' hot deal, I can never find shipping that cheap!

Pop for “Pop” – Printable Coke Can sleeve

Father's Day is just around the corner.

Am I the only one who struggles to come up with gifts for men??

My husband buys exactly what he needs for himself, and he can't think of a gift idea to save his life.  And another tie? Booooooring.

One thing I do know:  My husband loves Coke.  As in Coca-Cola.

So I decided to dress up a Coke can just a bit.  I made a Coke can "sleeve" to dress up his favorite beverage for Father's Day!

I did a little measuring of a regular old Coke can.  I studied the can, and tried to make a sleeve that would be very similar.  I started by downloading a Coca-Cola font, available here.

In Photoshop, I created this image to fit the can.  My favorite part is the nutrition facts... just a few of the traits I love about my husband! And with my husband recently counting his calories, I thought he might appreciate the "calorie-free" image.

I inserted this image into a Word document and printed it out, careful not to mess with the sizes at all.  (You may have to change your page orientation and  margins to fit a 9-inch long image.)

After cutting out the sleeve, I used good ol' tape to tape it around the can.

Just a little something extra special for our "pop" to drink on Father's Day.

Would you like to print your own Coke can sleeve for the Pop in your life??

Just click here to download the correctly-sized image.

Pirate Play Day {A Little Tipsy}

Oh my friends, my friends.  I have been dying to share this latest and greatest Summer Camp idea with you!  Michelle from A Little Tipsy is a fabulous gal, and one of my favorite blog reads!  She's a blast in real life, too!  You're in for a treat with this CAAA-UTE idea!

Hello there! I'm Michelle from A Little Tipsy and I am so excited to share my Summer Camp idea with you today!

With a house full of boys we are all about the pirates these days! My 3 year old and his little cousin LOVE the new show Jake and the Neverland Pirates so I had to go with a pirate book, "How I Became a Pirate."

I really tried to take a lot of my inspiration directly from the book.

We started off by making "sand" castles out of rice krispy treats. I sprayed the table and their hands with non-stick spray, gave them a big glob and let them go to town.

The 30-minute i-Pad Case

A long-awaited tutorial.   And a simple, sweet tutorial to boot!
Something you can make in under 30 minutes!  (Promise!)
I was thrilled when my husband won an i-Pad2 at work!  My husband isn't really a "Mac" guy, so I was lucky enough to inherit this little gem.  I absolutely LOVE it!  Love all of the fun apps... Isn't there an "app" for just about everything now??
But I think Little Man uses it more than me.  He navigates it like a pro.  The i-Pad was a lifesaver when we took our family trip to Maui.  He loves the educational games, songs, and stories.  Plus--the i-Pad has become his own personal boom box to play his favorite songs!  He is very careful with the i-Pad, and he knows the rules.
BUT he's still a 2-year-old.  I made the mistake of traveling with the i-Pad before getting a case for it.  It almost immediately started to get scratched.
I KNEW the i-Pad needed its own little snuggie.  I looked around a bit online.
But on an impulse, I bought some fabric, and I literally whipped this up in 30 minutes.
Yes, me, the beginning sewer.
So that's like 20 minutes for expert sewers.
Not too shabby.
Come see how to make your own i-Pad case!

E-Mealz Subscription Giveaway (CLOSED)

This post is brought to you by E-Mealz. All opinions are 100% mine!

This giveaway is now closed.

I just happen to believe that meal time is incredibly important for a family. It can be stressful planning meals, but I love sitting down and talking with the fam over a home-cooked meal.  It's just a little piece of heaven.

Have you heard of E-Mealz??

E-Mealz recently asked me to review one of their dinner meal plans, and for the past few weeks, my meal planning has been absolute bliss!!

Here's the gist of how E-Mealz works:
You select a meal plan based on your favorite grocery store PLUS the size of your family.  Each week, you can download a unique meal plan with 5 simple meals ready to go! The recipes and side dishes included.

You can create just about any meal in 30 minutes or less.  There are 7 ingredients or less in each meal.  And guess what?? Your grocery list is included!  I loved that E-Mealz actually helped me to save money and time.

I loved the variety of meals available.  They were tasty.  And creative!

Like this enchilada casserole.
It was slightly spicy, and oh so yummy!
This is a recipe I will definitely be making over and over again.
