Cut It Out Frame Giveaway {3 Winners!}

Have you heard of Cut it Out?

Cut it Out is a fantastic shop that offers decorative wood cutouts.  You can find wooden alphabet, numbers & symbols, seasonal/holiday decor, or even create your own custom order!!  But my favorite part of Cut it Out is their unfinished wooden frames!  Cut it Out offers frames in a variety of sizes from 4 x 6 to 20 x 30!

I had my eye on these frames for a while, and I was thrilled to review some frames for myself!   I love that the frames came unfinished so that I could customize them.  The unique shapes are so much fun!

Because I've been up to my eyeballs in birthday parties, I decided that these frames would make their debut at Little Man's birthday!  I am anxious to finally share all the details of the Mickey Mouse birthday party with you tomorrow.  It has taken me all week  to edit the pictures!  (Have I mentioned that I take WAY too many pictures?!)  I have just a few sneak peeks to share with you today.

I selected these lovely 8x10 Balboa frames.  Don't you love the shape?  As a crafter, seeing this unfinished wood just staring at me was quite exciting! Ohhh the possibilities!  And you can't beat the price on these quality frames!

I gave each frame a coat of red spray paint.  (This took some planning and coordinating with the weatherman considering our cold winter days here in Colorado!) I added some glass and propped them up on easels on my "un-mantle"!

I taped little Mickey ears on every single picture of Little Man!

This really set the tone for our Mickey party--these were the first thing our guests spotted when they walked in the door! Enough teasers.  The party in detail is coming to the blog tomorrow!

Here are some more fabulous ideas from some of my friends who have also tried Cut It Out frames:

Birthday subway art @ The Diary of Dave's Wife

Children's portrait wall @ Lolly Jane Boutique

Joy frame @ Every Creative Endeavor

Birthday frame @ I {Heart} Naptime

Amazing right?? You can help support Cut it Out by "liking" them on Facebook.  Although Facebook Terms of Use prevent me from asking you to do this as part of the giveaway, definitely stop by their page and say hello!

Chic Headbands Giveaway {2 winners!} – CLOSED

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED.

Congratulations to our winners, Kala and Danica!

Is anyone else in the full swing of Christmas shopping??  I AM!

Well, I have a fun etsy shop to introduce to you today.  It just might help you with a little Christmas shopping!

Chic Headbands is a fantastic shop with amazing custom designs!

Eve, the owner of Chic Headband, writes:

I am a stay at home mom of 14 month old boy/girl twins.  I wanted to find a way to keep myself busy, earn some extra money on the side and make something my daughter and I could both wear!  I make headbands for all ages...newborn-adult. I can do custom orders, any color combination you can think up I can make!

My headbands stand out among all of my competitors because my handmade flowers actually look like flowers! They`re not flat flowers, they stick out and actually give the flower a 3D look while attached to the headband. With the fun, chic color choices I've done you will definitively find one that is perfect for you! You will love them!

And Eve is exactly right... I DO love my Chic Headbands!

I had the chance to try out 2 lovely headbands!  I ordered the "Cooper" and "The Sweet Spot" headbands.

I will be wearing these A LOT!

You know those days when you don't exactly have time to do your hair?? I love wearing headbands on those days!  What a fun way to accessorize!

JOY-ful Christmas Display {Creative Carousel}

It's that time again!

This month's Creative Carousel is hosted by Amanda at Every Creative Endeavor.  Every day this week, you will find some incredible creative tutorials-- all centered on holiday decor.

For my project, I created this JOY-ful Christmas display on my mock "mantel".

I miss having a mantel.

Our home doesn't have a real mantel--just a high ledge... A ledge so high that I have to get a chair and stand on my tiptoes to decorate.  But I do love decorating the top of my DVD cupboard!

I have always loved the red and aqua color scheme for Christmas, so I set out to create a happy, colorful display to welcome in the holidays.

I started out with these large letters from JoAnn's.  I had the O from this P-O-P frame project!  And I used coupons to purchase the other letters.  I am proud to say I spent less than $10 on everything!  Not bad!

Here is a rundown on how I decorated each letter:

1.  I gathered some felt I already had on hand.  I probably used close to 3/4 yard of red felt to completely cover this letter.

2.  I put on a movie, and just started cutting out tons of red felt circles about 2-inches each.

3.  I folded each circle in fourths and pinched the bottom point.

4.  I just started hot gluing each folded circle to cover the J.  (Don't tell, but I only covered the front of the "J" because I realized no one would see the back!)

5.  I love the texture of all that felt!  Doesn't it remind you of rose petals?  Love.

Next up:  Letter O!

1.  For this letter, I grabbed an old book that I found at Good Will a year or so ago.  I cut each page into strips about 2 inches wide.

2.  I used mod podge to wrap each strip around the O.

3.  I gave the entire O a coat of mod podge over the top, too.

4.  After allowing the letter to dry completely, I covered the other side of the letter, too.

5.  I added a jingle bell flower in the corner!

I think this is my favorite part of the entire project!

Lucky for me, the Y was the quickest!  I had it done in about 10 minutes!

1.  I found some plush aqua yarn for this letter.  I wanted lots of texture!

2.  I used spray adhesive to adhere the yarn to the letter.  I just wrapped it around and around, as tightly as I could.

3.  Once I had wrapped the letter tightly with the yarn, I went over it again loosely to give it a messy look.

I put together the rest of the display using items found around my house....

I wrapped an empty box, found a spare frame (I used the frame and its beadboard matting), and threw in a few other random items!  I wanted the letters at varying heights, so I used a candlestcik holder and wrapped an empty box to create levels.

I have a lot of gold in my Christmas decor, so I thought the gold beads might tie in nicely!

I created a few quick garlands--a paper doily garland along with a messy ruffled felt garland.

I am so thrilled with how this turned out!  This makes me want to drink hot cocoa and listen to Christmas music!

*******

This is only the beginning of a whole week of fabulous holiday decor projects!

Here is a tiny sneak peek at the crafty goodness coming your way:

Be sure and stop by Lolly Jane tomorrow for another fun tutorial!

 Plus...

Every Creative Endeavor is hosting a huge giveaway with some incredible prizes.

There are 3 prize packages, each valued at over $150.  You won't want to miss out on all the crafting goodies!  So head on over and enter...

I would be thrilled if an Oopsey Daisy reader won!
