Wednesday’s Wowzers: New Year’s! (PLUS an announcement!)

The countdown is on for 2012!

I can hardly believe that New Year Eve is just a few nights away!  Hopefully I will be able to stay awake until midnight this year!  Lately I have been searching for some fun New Year's Eve ideas. We are having a big family party on Saturday night, and I always love to throw in some fun and creative ideas.  As usual, Pinterest has offered a bit of inspiration.

But first:  I have a big announcement!  I am so excited to announce that beginning in 2012, my Wednesday's Wowzers will become a link party!  I realize that there are many link parties across the blogisphere, but I feel like this is my best chance to get to know my readers better!  I am looking forward to the chance to stop by all of YOUR amazing blogs and see what you're working on!  I will be highlighting YOUR projects from now on.  So I hope you will be ready to link up your latest and greatest project starting next Wednesday. I can't wait!

Now on to some fun New Year's ideas:

This New Year's printable is absolutely perfect!  One of these printables could find a frame near you... just stop by the 36th Avenue and tell Desiree how awesome she is!

I adore this idea from How Does She?  You fill 12 balloons (one for each hour from noon until midnight) with a piece of paper with a fun idea for kids to do.  This will definitely keep the kids entertained!  And your kids will think you're the coolest!

Amy at the Idea Room shared a similar idea, but using countdown bags instead.  So fun!

Alright, technically this isn't all about New Year's, but I am too excited about this organization idea for the new year.  I have to share!  Many times when I think of organization, I just get overwhelmed.  But My Simpler Life offers printable calendars for every month of the year during 2012.  Every day lists one simple organization task.  I can do this!

You can never go wrong with Martha Stewart.  This tinsel number banner would add a lovely touch to any New Year's party!  And it looks so fun to make!

If you're throwing a New Year's party, you will definitely want to check out these party printables at Love the Day.  I love the color scheme!

I can't make cakes, but I would love to try to make my own version of this clock cake on a giant chocolate chip cookie!  I found this inspiration at Cake Central.

These clock pinwheels are ah-MAZ-ing!  I just might make some for our own little family party.  Thanks for the inspiration, Lisa Storms!  (Definitely stop by this incredible blog... you will love all of the fabulous inspiration!  I couldn't stop pinning!)

What are you doing for New Year's??  Anything fun?

Happy holidays!

And definitely stop by tomorrow for an incredible giveaway you won't want to miss!

  1. Hmm, I probably ought to think of something to do for New Year’s Eve, but I’ve not even thought about it! Honestly we stay home and keep to the same general bedtime for the 6 kiddos as usual, it’s just easier and we avoid meltdowns the next day at church that way. (My kids are 10, 7, 6, 4, 2, 1, and baby #7 is coming in less than 2 weeks).

One thing we always do it spend this week between Christmas and New Years talking and thinking about goals for the new year. We make family goals and personal goals.
    Have a fun New Year!

  2. Lovely ideas! I love the balloon countdown. Since the first little one came along we haven’t done much for New Year’s. We stay together as a family instead of going out anywhere. I want to ring in the new year with the people that mean the most to me, even if they are asleep in bed! :)

  3. Those are some great ideas! I always want to do a party to celebrate new years, but we end up just sitting in the living room or playing games until we look up to see the ball drop. These are very inspiring to have some fun. The link is going to be fun, hopefully I will get to know you better too!
