A is for Apples Wrap Up

We finished up our A is for Apples Mommy School unit just in time for Halloween.  Even though we did this same unit last year, we added so much more this year.  I am such a Mom... I am so amazed at all the new things Little Man can do.  I love how Little Man loves to learn.  Every day when he wakes up from his nap, he will march down the stairs and announce, "Let's do Mommy School!" And that, my friends, makes all the work worthwhile!

Here are just a few of our favorite crafts and projects:

We also bobbed for apples

Did a bit of fingerpainting - for the very first time!

Another first!  Little Man ate his first caramel apple.

We created our own sidewalk chalkboard apple tree

We learned a lot about Johnny Appleseed

And did a little more eating!  This time, we munched on apple Oreo pops!

We cut out our own apples out of apple pie-scented playdough!

Painted our own paper plate apple pie using red paint, cinnamon, and nutmeg!

Made apple "muffins"

(I made the real deal while Little Man made his own version!)

Cooked up our own crockpot applesauce

You can download your own A is for Apples Mommy School packet here.

Now hopefully a new unit will magically create itself very soon! :)

Have a happy weekend!

  6. This is so awesome! My little monkey is great with her numbers and shapes but she doesn’t want to try very hard with her letters. She knows the ABCs in order but can’t pick them out at random. Trying this out would be great.

  7. If you get a chance sometime, I would love to hear about the preschool routine that has worked for you. How often do you do Mommy School? How long to you plan your preschool sessions to be? Do you try to do a circle time activity? Just curious about what is working for you & Little Man.

  8. Wow! SO cute! You are such an inspiration. I am determined to do more meaningful activities with my 4 year old and 2 year old and not let my 6 month old be an “excuse” to just have them go off and play w/o me. Thanks so much for sharing all your hard work. I can’t wait to show my boys some of the activities. Thanks again! You rock!!

  9. Wow!! Wow!!! Woweeee!!!! How fun!!! Your little guy is just adorable too!!!

  10. Will you be coming out with a Christmas week for Mommy School? I just did your Halloween one with my little girl and it was AWESOME! Thanks so much.

I downloaded the pdf, and when I tried to open it, it said the file was damaged. Did I do something wrong?

I’m especially excited about the mommy school packets. I can only imagine how much work you put into making each of them, thank you for being willing to share! I already know my kids (2 1/2 & 18 months) are going to LOVE them! Look forward to following you on this blog!
